DDLS Client Charter of Rights

Clients of DDLS have the right to:

  • Confidentiality
  • Respect for their dignity, rights and values
  • Be fully informed of all options to resolving problems
  • Receive the highest standard of legal service possible
  • Legal advice free from conflicts of interest
  • All case files and consumer complaints being treated with absolute privacy
  • Be told of any information that is recorded about them
  • All records being kept secure
  • Access to all written records
  • Referral to other services if their needs cannot be met by DDLS
  • Have their grievances heard and resolved
  • Apply to become a member of DDLS
  • Have an opportunity to participate in service activities and campaigns
  • Participate in policy and service evaluation processes
